Well, here's another nice mess

Only I can’t blame Stan for getting me into trouble. And actually just like Olllie, it is me, myself, and I who are to blame for the messes.

What? You don’t know what I’m talking about? Stan, who? Ollie? It’s Stan and Ollie, as in Laurel and Hardy. Just showing my age a bit; that's what we watched when we were growing up.

All I wanted was a cup of frothy hot chocolate.

I don’t have one of those nifty Mexican doohickeys that people use to make Mexican chocolate, but I do have something else that works good....

really good... better than it needs to....

I have been cleaning up after myself for a very long time now, and I guess it will never get any better. I lack the gene that says “think about what is likely to happen....”

Here is a recipe for hot cocoa mix that is very good

Hot Cocoa Recipe
courtesy Alton Brown

2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup cocoa (Dutch process preferred)
2 1/2 cups powdered milk
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cornstarch
1 pinch cayenne pepper, or more to taste
Hot water

Thoroughly combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Heat 4 to 6 cups of water or milk.
Fill a mug half-full with the mixture and pour in hot water. Stir to combine.
Store the mix in an airtight container.

Might try that one day although I am not all that keen on chocolate - don't know whether that is a good thing or a bad thing - I suppose it depends upon one's waistline (although I do love cake and that doesn't help)

We LOVE Alton Brown. Have you seen his show? He is so creative and shares alot of interesting background info on the food he's working with. We have one of his DVD series. Can you taste the cayenne pepper in the hot chocolate?

No, I have not actually seen the Alton Brown show; I got the recipe from someone else who got it on-line. And yes, you can taste the cayenne pepper and the hot chocolate actually tastes quite good with a bit of "heat."
